Have you ever touched a sphynx? I bet not. The sphynx is the only hairless cat that feels warm to the touch,almost like warm suede but with wrinkles. The sphynx is a very confident cat that carries itself around with a sense of pride. It's also a very vocal and demanding cat. The sphynx cat enjoys wearing sweaters and sleeping on fleece. It will seek out any source of heat including your body. It is also a shoulder cat, when possible, it will leap to your shoulder and sit there as long as you allow it.

The sphyx cat does require some maintenance. It must be bathed on a regular basis. Usually once a week works to keep the natural oil of the sphynx off the body. The oil on the body attracts dirt so it must be cleaned. The sphynx cat has not hair in the ears so they too must be cleaned often. The oil also causes the nails to get dirty so a soft clean wipe or clothe must be used on those also.

 

So with just a little work, I myself find fun, you will have a beautiful ,clean, warm, loving Sphynx. Oh and what a conversation piece at our house, our cats are the talk of our town. If you decide to take your sphynx out in public once all of its shots are up to date, look out, all eyes will be on you. Want attention, you've got it!
